August Bank Holiday Weekend Sailing Trip to France - 1 Space Now Available

Bank holiday weekend trip to France for crew with >50nm experience, ideal for RYA Competent Crew & RYA Dayskippers and anyone else who has sailed before and wants to experience the thrill of sailing across the Channel.

Please note you must have a valid passport and if necessary a visa for France and the UK.

A nice relaxed sailing weekend with lots of miles in the Channel.

Friday 26/08/2016:
We meet at the boat between 1830 and 2000 and start with a safety briefing and go for dinner then sleep on the boat. Please ensure you can arrive on Friday evening in Southampton no later than say 2100.

Saturday 27/08/2016:
We will have a very early start and, depending on weather, wind and crew will cross the Channel to arrive in Cherbourg the same evening. We will have dinner in Cherbourg to celebrate our crossing. There are some really nice pubs and bars.

Sunday 28/08/2016:
We will have breakfast on the boat and depending on weather and the night before a day of leisurely sailing or exploring Cherbourg and its picturesque surroundings. 

Monday 29/08/2016:
We will have a very another very early start to return back to Southampton, arriving late afternoon/early evening. 

Our Boat:
The yacht is a 37 foot Beneteau Oceanis with MCA safety coding for 8 people. We will be 6 to 8 people on board and everyone will get involved in every part of sailing. This trip is for people of all levels including complete beginners.

What’s included?
The cost of £197/person for the charter and all food on board. There will be a small kitty for marina charges, diesel, etc. What is not included?
Transport from and to the yacht and a security deposit of £50 per person (cash or cheque is fine), which will be returned if there is no damage to the yacht – (see below). Personal insurance is recommended but not included. 

Terms and conditions:
Please read carefully. By joining this trip you accept that the Skipper has the final decision on activities and the itinerary, with the safety of crew and the yacht in mind. This means that depending on wind and weather the trip may have to be changed or cancelled. If the trip is cancelled you will receive a full refund, if the trip is changed you will not. By joining this trip you confirm that you are in good health and are a competent swimmer. (This should be self-understood for a watersport.) This is a shared costs venture, so there is no commercial liability or public liability on the part of the Skipper or on the part of any crew member. You take part at your own risk and absolve the Skipper and crew from all liability arising out of any action or inaction, with the exception of intentional harm. If you wish to have insurance cover it is your own responsibility to arrange it. By joining this trip you accept shared responsibility for the yacht, and you will need to provide a damage deposit of £50 in cash or cheque on the day. Please don't let this put you off, the damage deposit will not be touched except in the unlikely event that we damage the yacht or its fittings. Any damage cost will be equally shared amongst the trip attendees regardless of the cause.
