RNLI Alternative Boat Race 2015

On Friday 10 April 250 miniature boats will sail from Barnes Bridge down to Chiswick Bridge on the Thames to raise money and awareness for the RNLI.

We'll meet at the finish line to see how the London Sailing boat does and then go to The Ship pub to celebrate or drown our sorrows!

Your sponsorhip is needed please!

I have put £250 down for a London Sailing mini lifeboat to take part in this event. Please sponsor our lifeboat by sending a PayPal donation to [email protected]

Event details:

10 April 2015 is the legendary new day in the boating calendar. That’s when 250 miniature lifeboats will set sail down the Thames in a race for the chance to name an RNLI D class lifeboat. Every penny raised will go to the RNLI’s lifesaving work.

The boats will race along the same one-mile final stretch that the Oxford and Cambridge teams will take on the following day. The competition will be intense, but it’s going to be worth every moment!

I have put £250 down for an London Sailing mini lifeboat to take part in this event. Please sponsor our lifeboat by sending a PayPal donation to [email protected]

Every donation, however small or large, helps the RNLI.

If you wish, you can go along to the lifeboat race start at 5.30pm at Barnes Bridge, or just meet us at the finish line between 5.50pm and 6pm at Chiswick Bridge and see how our boat - Lifeboat 201 - gets on in the race.  We'll then go to the adjacent pub, The Ship, where RNLI prize giving and celebrations take place.

We'll celebrate in the pub, whether we win or lose!!
