Crew a Tall Ship From Malden to Barra via the East Coast and Caledonian Canal

Fantastic opportunity to crew a square rigged tall ship.

Passage for crew for Brigantine tall ship the Lady of Avenel from Maldon to Barra via the Caledonian Canal.

Join this lovely square rigged tall ship on a fantastic voyage up the east coast and through the stunning Caledonian Canel to the Outer Hebrides. This is our second trip to Scotland after last years adventures in and around The Hebrides. We are offering this trip as a passage crew at a reduced cost to cover lodging, food and fuel. You will work with experienced crew and learn how to sail a tall ship.

As well as having the opportunity to experience crewing a square rigged tall ship you will be expected to help standing a watch, look out, helming and to help in the galley and with generally running the ship.

The shift pattern is expected to be 3 hours on and 6 hours off. Itinerary:

Depart Maldon, Essex 22nd of May 20:00. Arrive on the Lady of Avenel no later than 18:00

Passage to Inverness - Arrive Inverness 26 to 27 of May

Caledonia Canal 2 days from Inverness to Fort William

Oban 29 of May

Barra 30 of May

There is options to leave or join the ship in all of the above ports.

There is a good and cheap ferry link from Barra back to Oban and a good train connection to Glasgow. We are asking for a contribution to board, food and fuel etc of only £45 / day.

Please bring a sleeping bag and clothing suitable for sailing in all weather.
