2014 Spring Series - Solent Racing on Beneteau F40

The Spring Series on the Beneteau F40 has 2 weekends available, spaced a fortnight apart:

22-23 MARCH

05-06 APRIL

The extended format of up to 7 races per weekend offers additional starts and two very full days of racing, proving really popular - certainly means good value for money.

Great videos supplied by Gary, one of the usual foredeckers:

Additionally, the one-design fleet from Port Solent has the advantages of:

- no handicap issues

- pleasure of the F40

- competitive fleet, good learning and practice

- fully utilise the weekend with active racing in the Solent

- moor at Gunwharf Quays, or sometimes in Cowes

The cost is £110 per head per weekend, and includes:

- charter cost incl race premiums

- race entry and organisation

- basic provisions

- diesel

- mooring

- shore accommodation for half the boat to avoid bunk crowding

This is Very good value for the amount of entertainment and racing (NB: as a comparison, Sunsail charge £380 per head for the same race weekend, excl. any shore accom)

To assist cash-flow, contributions will be collected in 2 stages - an immediate deposit and a final payment.

We meet up on Friday evening/Saturday morning and back in around 16.00 or 17.00 on Sunday.

The sailing suits all skills and folk can do one or more weekends, as they choose.

PLEASE MAIL ME BACK IF KEEN TO JOIN

pls reply soonest, as I'll be moving onto additional lists and sources next week.

To reiterate, the shared charter of the boat is strictly non-profit/non-commercial with advantages such as:

- independence and confirmed access to a boat

- makes a full social week-end, not just a morning's race - diarise in advance which race series to do rather than chancing it off a crew list

- run our own boat, doing our own practice and training

- good prices, considering some of the commercial berths - useful for novices, and practice different roles on the boat, not usually done on owner-boats

Please forward this mail to anyone who would be interested, and any skillset/experience level is welcome.

Neil
