Round the Island Race 2014

It's rare that I'm organised enough to book (or find) a boat for the RTIR, so it seems that this year must be going well..

What is the RTIR?

For the uninitiated the Round The Island Race is the worlds largest regatta and is an anti-clockwise race around the Isle of Wight.

Originally started as an event for smaller yachts not welcome in other races it is now one of the worlds most renowned yacht races

Itinerary

- Meet Thursday evening 5.30pm @ Waterloo OR 7.30pm onwards at Hamble Point Marina

- Friday: Last day of training (Fast tacks, jibes, calls, positions...). Early night for the early morning.

- Saturday: Early up & Race day. Evening party in Cowes, live music...

Boat

A lovely new Hanse 345 (2013) with an assymetric spinnaker. It's a 3Cab that sleeps 8 with a twin helm.
