Easter Adventure to France or Dorset

If you don't yet have plans for Easter come and join us for some exhilerating sailing with maybe the possibility of sailing to the northern coast of France, if not the Solent and beyond. There are still a couple of places left, all levels are welcome but sailing across the Channel will depend on the confidence and ability of the crew as well as wind and weather conditions.
If we don't make it to France, we'll certainly be able to make it to the Isle of Wight, the Solent and Poole Harbour and/or Weymouth.
This is intended to be a fun and relaxing trip but you should also get the chance to practice your sailing and boat handling skills, navigation skills (or just take it easy with the rest of the crew).

The boat is a 2010 Bavaria 38 which sleeps 8 (in shared cabins). The boat is fully MCA coded with complete safety kit as well as central heating, hot and cold water and music.

We'd aim to meet up on the Thursday night and (if going to France) arrive back during the Sunday night or very early Monday morning or if staying on the south coast we'd be back by about 2pm on Monday.

Let me know if you have any questions. See below a checklist:

WHERE: Haslar Marina, Gosport (Trains every half hour from Waterloo to Portsmouth or possibility of a lift)
WHEN: Easter
HOW MUCH: £140 (plus share of costs, wet weather gear can be hired if needed)

DEPOSIT: a £40 deposit must be paid to confirm a place on the trip (helpful if you could pay straight away)
WHAT: Sailing to France or Weymouth (weather and crew dependent)
WHO: I am a RYA Commercially Endorsed Yachtmast Offshore skipper - all levels are welcome (just enthusiastic and fun)

BRING

1. Warm clothes essential! (including gloves if you get cold hands and wind proof hat)
2. deck shoes (and/or sailing boots – nothing which can leave a mark)
3. waterproofs if you have them (otherwise recommend hiring them - £15)
4. Sleeping bag/pillow case
5. entertainment / good book – the crossing will take at least 12 hours (not all of them spent sleeping or navigating) + evenings
6. motion sickness pills if you suffer
7. suncream…hmmm.
8. some euros
9. pack things for the weekend/4 nights in a soft small bag (everything must be able to be stowed away easily and the boat will be fairly cramped and will be healing over at up to 30 degrees at times).
10. Passport
