1 Week Cruise to Holland / Belgium

I'm planning to do a cross channel passage to explore the inland seas of Holland. Once in Holland there'll be plenty of time for site seeing in the Dutch towns we stop off at, as well as in the City of Amsterdam, as our sailing route inland will take us right into the city centre.

Day Skippers and mile builders will find this cruise extends their passage making skills and confidence, and we should log over 450 miles

The itinery will look something like this after the detailed planning has been done.

Join the boat at Ipswich dock, a short walk from the railway station.

Saturday: Ipswich – Lowestoft

Sunday: Lowestoft – Den Helder

Monday: Den Helder – Ijsselmeer

Tuesday: Ijsselmeer - Markermeer

Wednesday: Amsterdam

Thursday: Amsterdam – Scheveningen

Friday: Scheveningen – Ipswich

Saturday: Ipswich

Note: The itinerary above is only a plan. Weather and sea conditions may require us to change it to something more suitable.

I'd like to get the boat fully crewed so that we can keep the costs down. It's likely to cost about £350 each for the boat. We should then budget for about £100 pp to cover, share of food and drinks onboard, marina fees, diesel e.t.c. Also any evening meals out that we might decide to take.

The channel passages at either end of this trip will require some night sailing and I'd like to ensure that everyone signing up for this trip has some sailing experience. It's essential that we have at least one other crew member with a minimum of Day Skipper experience who will be able to act as watch leader alongside myself as Yachtmaster skipper.

I've got my fingers crossed for good weather in early July, so hopefully this will be a cracking trip!
